Strategic Product Manager Inclusivity Solutions
In his role as Strategic Product Manager, Baraka is responsible for translating market research and insights into insurance products that deliver value to our end-consumers.
Baraka joined Inclusivity Solutions in October 2019 and was attracted by the prospect of contributing towards delivering digital insurance solutions that impactfully meet the needs of emerging market consumers. He is passionate about product design, research, and advanced analytics; and he spends much of his time developing and evolving customer journeys and process flows to ensure excellent customer experiences. In addition, Baraka is responsible for driving lean experiments designed to evaluate, validate, and improve product-solution fit. Other day-to-day responsibilities include the development of communication catalogues, call-centre and claims processes.
Baraka brings a wealth of experience in financial services and data analytics. His prior roles include working as a Research Analyst with the Centre for Financial Regulation and Inclusion (Cenfri) where he was part of a team exploring the role of insurance in managing risk for development. Before joining Cenfri, Baraka worked as a research assistant at the Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship, at the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business, conducting research on the Investing for Impact Landscape in Africa. In addition, he worked at Standard Chartered Bank as an International Graduate Associate where he conducted comprehensive credit risk analysis for Tanzanian corporate entities.
Baraka has a Master of Commerce in Development Finance from the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business, with distinction. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (honours) in Economics, and a Business Science in Finance from the University of Cape Town.
